KOMO News Seatlle reported the states largest instance of voter fraud in history in July of 2007. 7 people turned in over 1800 fraudulent voter registration cards. In the article possible reasons for the fraud are presumed to be either financial motivation or fear of losing jobs. The 1800 fraudulent cards arrived the day after they were due for the election.
Names on the cards were pulled from phone books and baby name books, and they used many addresses of homeless shelters.
